Addiction and Recovery Services
“Trauma isn’t what happened TO you. It’s what happened INSIDE you as a result. The event is over, but the wound it left behind still stings.”
If you’re currently experiencing the ongoing dread of a “You can’t live with it and can’t live without it” sense of doom, you are not alone. Addiction is a beast, and some are more prone to it than others. As a teenager, I struggled with addiction. When I was unconscious to my pain, I lived in escape behaviors and eventually found myself drowning in devastation from avoidance, shame, terrifying loneliness, and depression. Sometimes it can take drastic experiences to snap us into the present, allowing us to go in a new direction, and I’m grateful that was part of my story.
Learning to understand addiction and dependance is a humbling process and enriching process. It takes rigorous honestly with yourself and others, deep commitment to change, daily commitment in your healing efforts, and a protected sense of hope as you bet on your future being friendly. Breaking the vicious self-destructive cycle that addiction and dependency perpetuate is entirely possible. However, without support, the right tools, emotional education and processing, the journey will be an uphill battle. My recovery services are tailored to the individual, as recovery is not a one size fits all process.
